What are Google Alerts and how to build links using them
For a long time people around the world have been using Google Alerts to know what is being written or talked about on their favorite topics. I am using the same Google Alerts for marketing, building links and getting more traffic. The basic idea is to quickly build one way back links with no effort and more importantly with the websites or blogs of the same niche or topic which definitely helps in getting targeted traffic as well as helps in increasing your websites Page rank. This method was thought of by keeping in mind the importance of one way back links and relevant back links.
I assume most of us have a Google account which we use for Google services like Adsense, Adwords or even Blogger. Now let’s head towards the Google Alerts page.
Setup Google Alerts
Now just set up Google alerts for each of your keywords for which you want to build one way back links. Do not forget to set the “type to blogs”. You can choose “once a day” or “as it happens” depending on the number of links you want to build. Now setup your keyword for all the keywords you use. For example, if you are selling themes, you could use “buy themes” “best themes” “free themes” etc. You can also use parenthesis for the keywords like you do on Google search.
Google Alerts
Once you are done, you will start receiving emails from every site that has your keywords and the best thing is that these websites are the ones which the Google bot has spidered recently and will keep spidering very often. These websites or blogs are also usually with higher page ranks.
Create links with Google Alerts
Now go to your email, click the links and post a comment about your blog or website. I have around 15 google alerts setup for my website and I get at least 20 google alerts every day. This means, I am building 15 links everyday. If this is too fast for your website, you can always reduce the number of alerts or keywords.
The google alerts method definitely helps link building and increases your website’s page rank by increasing the one way back links and also gradually increases traffic to your website.
