There are a lot of important factors you should consider while building links for your website. Link building is one of the most important part of gaining higher page ranks and topping the search engines like Google, Yahoo etc. As link building is so very important, here are a few tips and key factors you should keep in mind before you start your link building campaign.

Always make sure your website or blog has interesting and unique content so that other webmasters in your niche are interested in linking or building links to your website or web page.

Always try to get as many keywords as possible in your links, pointing to your pages, as possible.

If you have some great content on your website, then you should always use direct links to your own pages.

You can also buy links on other websites, but make sure those websites have a higher page rank than yours. And remember, Google doesn’t like websites who buy links.

You should always use a variety of anchor text for your links. For example, if you are selling paintings on your website, you may use paintings, art, work of art, image, canvas, watercolor etc as your anchor text. This looks natural and helps in increasing your search engine rankings.

If your website is new, and you just started building links, i suggest you build links with websites or web pages who have a higher page rank than yours. And also do not start sending outbound links from your website to other websites of lower page rank.
