The iPod Inside the iPhone

The iPhone, unlike any other mobile device, consists of its own built-in iPod. This is great news for all music lovers acquiring the iPhone!

Accessing the iPod facility on the iPhone is as easy as tapping the iPod icon on the iPhone’s Home screen. Once in the facility, you will notice five small icons at the bottom of the screen. They are Playlists, artists, albums (songs), podcast (video) and more.

We will take a quick look at each of the five functions offered by the iPod application.

Playlists

Playlists offer the user the opportunity to manage songs on the iPhone in categories, such as Opera, Rock, Pop, etc. Your favorite songs are categorized under these playlists.

By tapping the ‘Playlist’ icon in the iPod application you will see a list of Playlists. By clicking on any Playlist you will be in a position to view the songs categorized under that specific Playlist. By tapping a song in the Playlist will play that particular song.

Artists

The iPod facility allows the user to search and play songs by specified artists. By clicking the Artists icon you will be displayed a list of artists on your iPhone.

Simply tap the artist you wish to listen to and a list of songs will appear. Clicking any particular song will play that that song.

Albums (Songs)

You are also in a position to search a song by its name. This is done by tapping the Songs icon. If you have a very long list of songs, you can use the easy-to-use search feature.

The iPhone makes the search of songs much easier by having a vertical alphabetical list appearing next to the songs names. If you are looking for a specific song starting with a ‘B’, simply tap ‘B’ on this list and all songs starting with ‘B’ will be displayed.

Podcasts (Video)

Your iPhone allows you a wide variety of videos to be played directly on it. Playing a video is a very easy process.

Simply tap the Video icon inside the iPod application and a list of local videos will appear. Tap on the video you want to view and turn your iPhone sideways to watch the video.

The iPod application also allows the user to search and view Youtube videos. In fact, there is a Youtube icon on the Home screen of the iPhone.

Have fun with your new iPod inside your iPhone
