We all should know that the Search Engines have altogether changed their algorithms years ago. Building links to your website is still as important as it was. How to get more backlinks is now how to get quality backlinks. As now, link building is more important with relevant websites rather than just building hundreds and thousands of unrelated paid links to your website. Google has announced in its official blogs and all over the Web that getting paid inbound links can get your website disappear permanently from their search engines and has also started on their campaign to penalize paid links and the websites selling paid links. Why waste the money to but paid links?

We are really unsure how Google is going to penalize paid links, but have already started seeing that the paid links are not being indexed by Google. It is now time to build quality inbound links. And so, we advice you and ourselves started to build links with Google alerts which helps us build quality backlinks from relevant websites or blogs of higher page rank.

For a long time people around the world have been using Google Alerts to know what is being written or talked about on their favorite topics. I am using the same method for marketing, building links and getting more traffic. The basic idea is to quickly build one way links with no effort and more importantly with the websites or blogs of the same niche or topic which definitely helps in getting targeted traffic as well as helps in increasing your websites Pagerank.

I assume most of us have a Google account which we use for Google services like Adsense, Adwords or even Blogger. Now let’s head towards the Google Alerts page.

Now just set up an alert for each of your keywords for which you want to build links. Do not forget to set the “type to blogs”. You can choose “once a day” or “as it happens” depending on the number of links you want to build. Now setup your keyword for all the keywords you use. For example, if you are selling themes, you could use “buy themes” “best themes” “free themes” etc. You can also use parenthesis for the keywords like you do on Google search.

Once you are done, you will start receiving emails from every site that has your keywords and the best thing is that these websites are the ones which the Google bot has spidered recently and will keep spidering very often. These websites or blogs are also usually with higher pageranks.

Now go to your email, click the links and post a comment about your blog or website. I have around 15 alerts setup for my website and I get at least 20 alerts every day. This means, I am building 15 links everyday. If this is too fast for your website, you can always reduce the number of alerts or keywords.

This definitely helps in increasing your websites pagerank by increasing the one way links and also gradually increases traffic to your website.
